The CVS/pharmacy chain will be the first national retailer to roll out the Kodak’s PYNK “Smart Print” system nationwide.

The new instant photo framing solution lets customers create photo collages custom fit to a frame at the kiosk, Kodak says, and “marries photos to the photo holder.”

CVS/pharmacy will begin wide-scale installations in 5,000 of its U.S. retail locations in December.

The two companies tried the system at more than 30 stores in Westchester County, NY, in July.

Customers select a product; enter the six-digit ID number at the kiosk; the print fits the product. Selected photos are automatically cropped, sized, arranged and printed on one sheet to fit the frame or mat. They no longer have to hassle with cropping, cutting, laying out and taping their photos, Kodak says. Prices range from $4 – $14.
